What is Changing?
1. A new account entitlement system:
SOLIDWORKS has begun a multi-stage project to unify their customer records with the system that manages all other 3DEXPERIENCE® brands at Dassault Systèmes, called DSx.Client Care & Order. With this new system, access to subscription benefits is given at a company level, so as long as a given user is registered as a contact with the company, they can access these benefits. This greatly improves the ease with which these are allocated.
2. A new login page:
Beginning January 2023, all users will see and use the 3DEXPERIENCE login page on sites like solidworks.com, my.solidworks.com, and 3ds.com. If you are an existing SOLIDWORKS customer, you can use the same login details as you did before.
Why is this change happening?
These new changes allow both us and SOLIDWORKS to provide you better support and ensure easier management of your subscription benefits and who has access to them. This also allows easier ordering processing in the longer term, as well as future improvements to the certification system.
How Do I Administrate Licenses?
Licenses are no longer something that needs to be administrated per license, however, administrators can manage which contacts get subscription benefits under their company by managing the contacts on the DSXClient. Note: Administrators must have the role "Security Administrator" to manage contacts, please contact support@mecad.co.za to ensure you as administrator have the correct access and assistance with how to use DSXClient.
What Happened to the Customer Portal and Admin Portal
The SOLIDWORKS Customer Portal and Admin Portal were mainly used to register and manage license allocation. With the new system, this is no longer required so these systems are depreciated. To access the subscription benefits, please use DSXClient, or contact support for assistance.
Some additional features that were given to administrators via the Admin Portal are currently not accessible due to this change. Please contact support on how to access the information from these systems.
How do users access Certifications and Downloads?
Users can still access certifications and downloads like before. Downloads can be accessed from the download page. Subscription based certifications benefits can be accessed by following the procedure outlined here. Access to MySolidworks can be accessed by using the correct login as outlined below.
For existing users, they would sign into the various systems as normal, they will be prompted for a 3DEXEPERIENCE Login, to which they can just use their previous SOLIDWORKS login details.
For new users, they simply need to create a 3DEXPERIENCE account with the correct email address as assigned, registered under the company by their administrator.
