Why are my PDM mail links not taking me to the correct file location?
When you receive an email notification from PDM, you’re supposed to click on the link provided so that it can take you to the exact file location of the part you need to approve/change. This is an extremely helpful feature in SOLIDWORKS PDM, until it stops working.
If you have encountered this issue and the links don’t take you to the correct location, there is a pretty easy way to fix it:
WARNING: Editing the Registry of your computer may cause unwanted data loss and cause system instability. Please contact support@mecad.co.za for assistance if you are unsure.
- Open the Registry Editor
- Browse to this registry entry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\Applications\PDMWorks Enterprise\Namespace\SelectFile
- There should be a few registry keys inside the folder. Delete every entry EXCEPT the (Default) entry
It should now be fixed. As easy as that!
