What to do if the Installation Manager is blank

You’ve downloaded the files for SOLIDWORKS or have sent/received the folder for the download. However, when you open it up, you are faced with a blank screen and no options. Extracting From Compressed File

You can avoid this error by following these steps: right-click on the compressed zip file, select "Properties," and go to the "General" tab. Under the security option, check the "Unblock" box. This will allow the files responsible for generating text on the installation manager to be unblocked, enabling them to generate text properly. 

Unblocking The Uncompressed Files

If we extract the files before checking the security box, there is another simple fix that you can follow. Here's how:

1. Navigate to the file path <downloads>\sldim\lang\english\HTML. Please note that this assumes that the file location is set to the default location.

2. Once you are in the HTML folder, locate the "frameset.html" file.

3. Right-click on the "frameset.html" file and select the "Properties" option from the context menu.

4. In the Properties window, you will find a checkbox for "Unblock." Check this box to unblock the file.

5. Click on the "Apply" button and then click on the "OK" button to save the changes.

6. Repeat the above steps for the following files: "framesetstartup.html," "header.html," and "navpanestartup.html."

By unblocking these files, you are allowing them to function properly and generate the necessary text for the installation manager. This should help resolve the blank screen issue you were facing.
