The 3DEXPERIENCE platform is a business-wide tool that gives access to the vast array of engineering software solutions offered by Dassault Systèmes. Teams can design, test, manufacture, and market their products using the platform.Every program on the platform links easily and shares the same files, enhancing departmental collaboration, streamlining data administration, and facilitating quick access to crucial information. The 3DEXPERIENCE platform has features for every department inside a company, but we anticipate that the design and engineering teams will benefit the most from using the platform for the majority of our customers.
What does this mean for the SOLIDWORKS Users?
The CAD intelligent cloud data storage and the simple design sharing tools are the major features that SOLIDWORKS customers may benefit from right away. The SOLIDWORKS Cloud Services give users access to a select group of 3DEXPERIENCE platform tools as well as a link from SOLIDWORKS to the platform.
The platform's capabilities are extensive, but they are also entirely modular, so we advise starting by utilizing the cloud collaboration and data storage facilities and extending into other areas as and when necessary. How does the license and maintenance management work?
Named users are given licenses on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Therefore, you and other users are not permitted to share licenses. The user can log into the platform from any device; therefore, this does not imply that access is limited to a single system.
The 3DEXPERIENCE platform requires simple maintenance; an administrator must manage user access, and every 6 to 8 weeks a minor download is needed to refresh the connection between SOLIDWORKS and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
When this update is necessary, you will be prompted, and it normally just takes a few seconds to download.
Backups of your data on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform are managed for you by Dassault Systèmes.
