What is changing starting July 2023?

Mecad, forming part of the world-class reseller network, is ready to address all of your specific requirements and questions with great attention to assure your success and satisfaction regarding the new licensing changes.

So, what is changing?

Dassault Systèmes has released new functionality for SOLIDWORKS users known as SOLIDWORKS Cloud Services. These services empower engineering and design teams to solve modern challenges and minimize mundane tasks by providing tools to improve collaboration, cloud data management and design sharing.

The benefits of Cloud Service are too many to mention, but here are a few to get you excited about the upcoming changes:

  • Better Collaboration
  • Data Loss Prevention
  • Scalability and Flexibility
  • Advanced Security
  • Faster Time to Market

From July 2023 all new purchases of SOLIDWORKS CAD will include Cloud Services as part of their subscription (much like Visualize and CAM are included with subscription for relevant customer). Existing licenses will have the option to upgrade to a version of SOLIDWORKS including Cloud Services for a nominal fee but also the flexibility to renew their usual Subscription, if preferred.

If you have an existing subscription for a perpetual license or 1 year term license of SOLIDWORKS CAD, then you are unaffected by these changes and can continue your subscription or licenses as before but can opt to upgrade to the new model including cloud services if you wish.
