What are the new SOLIDWORKS Cloud Services?

A new set of cloud-based tools called SOLIDWORKS Cloud Services makes it simple and secure to save and share data. These capabilities interact with SOLIDWORKS natively.

Three categories can be used to classify the primary functionality:
  • Markup and Sharing of Designs,
  • Secure Revision and Storage,
  • Control and Management of Design.

Markup and Share

Need to communicate your designs to coworkers, clients, or contractors? Now you can do it straight from SOLIDWORKS.
Anyone with whom you are collaborating can then see the files from any supported browser, on any device (mac, windows, ios, android, linux) without needing to download or install anything.
Even better, they may directly add markup and comments to the shared file, making it simple to monitor past collaborations.

Secure Revision and Storage

With the new capabilities provided as part of SOLIDWORKS Cloud Services, access secure cloud-based storage from within the SOLIDWORKS interface.

Not only that, but the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, which is CAD intelligent and understands how files link, offers capabilities that make it simple to share, version, revise, and review your files. With the option to lock files you're working on, go back in time, and attach feedback to files. Collaborating with other designers has never been easier.

Control and Management of Design

The Cloud Services include a base level of PLM that can be expanded quite extensively, to include parallel approvals, automated PDF and STEP file creation, and much more.

The 3DEXPERIENCE platform makes it simple to scale up if your requirements become more complex though. You can add onto these capabilities any time for access to advanced project, file, and process management, giving you more control over your data and workflows.

By organizing your CAD data on the 3DEXEPRIENCE Platform, you can plan projects, assign tasks, control engineering change, address problems, and do away with data silos.
