      SOLIDWORKS System Requirements

      The Official Recommended System requirements may change from version to version, these can be found here. 

      HARDWARE 

      SOLIDWORKS 2020, 2021, 2022 

      Processor 

      3.3 GHz or higher 

      RAM 

      16 GB or more 

      Graphics 

      Certified cards and drivers 

      Drives 

      SSD drives recommended for optimal performance 

      However, these do not address the fact that the real-world requirements may differ from user to user, depending on the type of work they use SOLIDWORKS for. A student can get away with specifications way below what SOLIDWORKS recommends, whereas someone running large assemblies will struggle if they use the SOLIDWORKS Recommendations.
