# SOLIDWORKS: Activation Count Exceeded Error
## Understanding "Activation Count Exceeded" Error in SOLIDWORKS and Managing Computer ID Changes
The "Activation Count Exceeded" error in SOLIDWORKS occurs when the number of activations used by a license reaches its permitted limit. To resolve it, deactivate unused installations, contact your SOLIDWORKS reseller to reset the activation count, or upgrade your license.
