How does the migration to the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform affect Enhancement/Feature requests?

With the backend of SOLIDWORKS changing from the Customer portal to the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform (more information here), some additional changes are also taking place. This includes how enhancement/feature requests are managed. These requests will no longer be handled through service requests, but rather through the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform via a dedicated community.

A community is essentially a message board or forum on the platform. By using this community, ideas and requests can be shared directly with the SOLIDWORKS team. From here, the idea which is the official message type, will be processed and the team will assess whether implementation of the idea is necessary based on effectiveness and efficiency for the larger SOLIDWORKS community. The steps to submit your idea is highlighted below.

The community can be accessed here or here. Both links will redirect to the same community where you will be prompted to sign in with your 3DPassport. A new 3DPassport can be registered for users who does not have one from here.

Once signed in, the page will redirect to the Enhancement Ideas Community.

In addition to showing existing ideas, the “START HERE” post is shown. The only way to submit an idea is to use the idea submission form. To do this, click on “CLICK HERE” in the “START HERE” post. This will redirect you to the idea submission form. Please take note of the additional information in the “START HERE” post before submitting an idea.

Your idea will get more traction if it follows the idea format.

On the form, complete all the specifics relating to your idea and submit.

Once submitted, the idea will be posted to the ideas community where the status can be tracked.

Additionally, you can also like or comment on your own ideas and those submitted by others to help boost them in the queue, or to add additional information.
